was launched in 1999 by designer and owner Meredith Twyman. Unique Gems (the original company name) specialized in high fashion hancrafted
jewelry without the high fashion price. The company's vision was a collection of original pieces not mass production of
the same items. We prefer to giving each customer "individuality".
In 2004, Meredith's Unique Gems evolved with the introduction
of it's first collection, "The Mosaic Collection". It was well recieved by customers. The popularity of the collection prompted coverage
in
The Montgomery News Papers in November 2004, followed by a 100 woman trunk showing in Feasterville, Pa.
In May 2005, Meredith's
Unique Gems produced its first art show in the Cheltanham Art Gallery. The show was small, but received coverage in
The Trend newspaper.
In 2006, Meredith's Unique Gems has broadened it horizons to Trunk shows at corporate venues and charity events. The company has expanded
into boutiques in
Center City, Philadelphia and
Montgomery County, PA. Plans to offer its jewelry in boutiques and
stores throughout the United States, Canada and Europe (especially the United Kingdom) are in the works. Presently, Gems can be found
on select shopping sites in the UK.
In May 2006, Meredith's Unique Gems sponsered grab bag sachets for The Philadelphia University's
annual fashion show held at the Academy of Music.
Now, June 2006 brings the newest collection to hit the designer pages. The
"Be Aware" collection offers customers a fashionable alternative to the present awareness bracelets on the market. Each bracelet is
individually crafted. Cancer and Domestic Violence are the main subjects of this collection. 10% of each bracelet sold goes to the
appropriate prevention organization.
Press coverage for the "Be Aware" Collection included both TV ( Health Check ABC TV-Philadelphia
, The NE Times -Philadelphia , CN8 News - Comcast, NBC Philadelphia, 1210 AM Radio just to name a few.
